Drilling and turning with the EcoCut multifunctional tool

The Swiss army knife of cutting tools reduces setup times and increases your productivity. But the multifunctional tool can do even more!

The multifunctional tool for a wide range of applications

Be it drilling with a stationary or rotating tool or turning of face, inside and outside profiles, the EcoCut is the leading tool for a wide range of applications. EcoCut tools are available in four versions: EcoCut Classic, EcoCut Mini, EcoCut ProfileMaster and the new EcoCut Solid.

Our EcoCut is a classic all-rounder that fabricators turn to time and again. Suitable for an almost limitless number of applications, today it boasts a 30-year pedigree. The three tool families are about to become four, with the addition of the EcoCut Solid: in the smallest diameters from 10 mm up to 25 mm and lengths of 4xD, its strengths are apparent where conventional boring bars are often not up to the job.

EcoCut Classic

The EcoCut Classic is the indexable insert version, which can be used to machine diameters between 8 and 32 mm.

EcoCut Mini

The EcoCut Mini is a solid carbide variant of the tool for holes from Ø 2 – 8 mm.

EcoCut ProfileMaster

The EcoCut ProfileMaster is suitable for holes from a diameter of 10 mm. Axial and radial grooves can also be made.

EcoCut Solid

Extremely stable solid carbide holders on the EcoCut Solid minimise vibration, reliably protecting the indexable inserts in the EcoCut line from wear. Not only that, it is ideal for the smallest diameters from 10 mm to 25 mm and lengths of 4xD, making it a great fit where conventional boring bars are often not up to the job.

Fewer tool changes thanks to a wide range of machining processes

EcoCut is designed so that up to four different machining processes can be performed using this one tool. Different machining processes are combined, eliminating the need to change tools. The setup time is drastically reduced and machine utilisation is increased.

Impressive performance in the processing of steel

The introduction of different carbide grades with DRAGONSKIN coating makes it possible to machine a wide range of materials in different applications – but in steel machining in particular, the EcoCut achieves excellent results with the correct indexable insert. The supplementary -P brings with it the update for machining ISO-P steels. This enables the user to either optimise their cutting data and perform machining faster, or stick to their tried-and-tested parameters and benefit from a longer tool life.

CTCP425-P

  • New CVD coating
  • Outstanding wear resistance
  • For high cutting speeds

CTCP435-P

  • New CVD coating
  • For poor machining conditions
  • Where a high degree of toughness is required

1. Gold-coloured indicator layer - TiN

2. Multilayer - AI2O3

3. Highly textured base layer - Ti (C, N)

Your added value thanks to the update

  • New EcoCut ISO-P grades → ideal machining conditions in steel
  • Gold-coloured indicator layer → rapid insert detection
  • Optimised layer structure of the Dragonskin coating → longer tool life

ISO-P grade update for EcoCut indexable inserts

  • Higher cutting data
  • Reduced machining times
Extensive tests have shown that the new EcoCut-P indexable inserts achieve up to 15% greater performance than their predecessors.

Stable, secure and superior thanks to the Torx Plus system

Increasing the cutting speeds and feeds also makes it important to increase the security of the indexable insert clamping. This is where the Torx Plus system comes in. Torx Plus screws improve the transfer of the tightening torque and simplify handling. The indexable insert is often the only focus of the improvement process. However, by using our Highlight coating, we have also increased the performance of the tool holder itself. This silver-coloured nickel coating reduces friction and thus the wear this causes on the tool holder. It also plays a role in optimising the chip flow and features top-grade aesthetics. What's more, the chip flow for tools with a length/diameter ratio of 2.5xD is supported by the use of a coolant jet directed backwards.
