AluLine | Solid carbide end mills for machining aluminium

Looking for an effective way to machine aluminium and non-ferrous metals? An optimised coating and geometry give you even better results!

Short tool lives aren't an issue any more when machining aluminium and non-ferrous metals, because the solid carbide end mills in the AluLine can handle even the most complex jobs with supreme efficiency. How does that work? Our special geometry and the ultra-smooth DLC coating create the perfect solution.

Key features of the high-performance milling cutters in our AluLine:

  • Economical and process-secure machining of aluminium and non-ferrous metals
Optimal performance thanks to a perfect match of geometry, substrate and coating.
  • Optimal selection of versatile tools for more or less every application when machining non-ferrous metals
We've got basically everything covered with our product range of around 2,500 items exclusively for non-ferrous metals.
  • Extremely long service lives
Sticky chips are no issue, because our wear-resistant DLC coating gets chips out of the machining zone in no time and extends the tool service life enormously.
Our AluLine milling cutter impresses with its outstanding coating. It achieves first-rate results even in dry machining.

We put the brakes on wear – the AluLine in action

Check out the video to see our AluLine milling cutters in action. We teamed up with OPEN MIND to make an aluminium basket. Complex workpieces like this one can only be created by pairing an optimised machining strategy (hyperMILL) with the right tools.

Overview of the individual milling steps:

Machining:

  • Outside profile pre-roughed
  • Rough shape of basket already visible
  • Maximum material removal
  • Clamping attachment for 2nd clamping milled

Machining:

  • Outside profile pre-roughed
  • Net already slightly visible
  • Handles and handle recesses roughed
  • Upper collar roughed

Machining:

  • Net structure pre-roughed
  • All openings (weave) cut out

Machining:

  • 2nd clamping
  • Clamping in three-jaw chuck
  • Incremental rough machining, followed by finishing process

Machining:

  • Pre-sizing inner mesh in lower part of basket
  • Finishing bottom of basket

Our product range of around 2,500 items exclusively for non-ferrous metals has basically everything covered. Discover our complete range now!

We're not the only ones who are excited about the performance of our AluLine milling cutters – read what our customers have to say:

This @ceratizit aluminium cutter is definitely my all-time favourite aluminium end mill! Running at just over 9,000 mm feed, stepping over at 15% at a depth of 15 mm, this end mill can really move. I could push this so much harder if I had it in my hydraulic holder. [...]

Micro cutters for complex micro components

AluLine – Micro: with DLC coating and minimal tolerances

Workpieces are getting smaller all the time – from the medtech sector, to the latest smartphones, through to elegant watch cases. This means the tools used to make these components are going miniature as well. We responded by upgrading our AluLine series to include the AluLine – Micro and adapted this wide-ranging portfolio of micro cutters to meet current industry demands.

Aluminium machining

Aluminium has always been a popular lightweight material, and this classic is here to stay. Our article titled "How to successfully mill aluminium – 8 keys to success when machining aluminium" outlines why aluminium is such a popular material. We also look at the positive characteristics and shortcomings it has when it comes to machining, and particularly milling.
